Our mission is to encourage and facilitate the recreational and social enjoyment of curling in the local and regional area. We are committed to being a thriving and self-sustaining organization that offers curling to people of all abilities and ages, at both recreational and competitive levels. A strong part of the CurlBerkshires mission is to teach and promote the sport by holding open-house sessions where anyone from the community can try curling.
Most people can learn to curl within an hour or two. The game is fun even when the stones don’t go exactly where you want them to! Some members want to be competitive and have aspirations of winning bonspiels (tournaments), and some members really look to the great time we all have curling together—social events to meet up with old and new friends.
Curling Club of the Berkshires is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable corporation in Massachusetts. It is operated entirely by members and is managed by a seven-member board of directors. The club has steadily grown and expanded its membership since its establishment.
Curling Club of the Berkshires, Inc. is a member of the Grand National Curling Club.
The Grand National Curling Club (GNCC) started in 1867 and was the National Governing Body of curling in the United States until 1958. Today, the GNCC's mission is to serve their membership, including approximately 6,000 curlers, with programs and support to grow and advance the sport of curling together.
